Honoring a life of service, education, and community.

The foundation was established in 2011 to honor Willie Junius Bradley, Jr. (1923 to 2011), whose life showed what opportunity and hard work can do.

Bremo

From Bremo Bluff to a lifetime of leadership

Willie Junius Bradley, Jr. was born on July 25, 1923, in the small community of Bremo Bluff in Fluvanna County, Virginia. He was the second of thirteen sons in a Christian household that valued education and service above all else.

From those humble beginnings he became a decorated veteran of three wars, a devoted educator, and a tireless community leader whose influence reached countless lives.

His fellow students at Virginia State College nicknamed him "Bremo" after his hometown. The name stayed with him for life and became shorthand for excellence and service.

Our mission

Opening the door to college for students who are ready to walk through it.

Willie Bradley rose from humble beginnings through education, military service, and community involvement. We provide scholarships so today's students can do the same.

Working with the Nu Omicron Lambda Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., Mr. Bradley's beloved brotherhood, we award scholarships to graduating seniors from Petersburg, Hopewell, Chesterfield, Prince George, and Dinwiddie who show academic achievement, financial need, and a commitment to giving back.

How we honor his legacy

Everything the foundation does leads back to one goal: helping local students afford college.

Scholarships

The MLK Memorial Breakfast

The Black & Gold Gala

An evening of celebration where scholars are recognized and the community invests in the next class.
